Dear Royal Oak Members and Friends,
I am very pleased to present our 2017 heritage tour program produced in partnership with Albion. These unique group tours offer Royal Oak members the chance to explore and enjoy the vast cultural and natural heritage of Britain including many of the National Trust of England, Wales and Northern Ireland’s magnificent places, with behind the scenes tours, after dinner lectures and insights from the owners of the properties themselves.
Both Albion and the Royal Oak Foundation are proud to be partners of the National Trust, helping to support the Trust’s vital conservation work. These tours not only provide a financial contribution to the Trust’s conservation projects but they also allow you to experience firsthand the important work that is being carried out.
The Cotswolds & Cheltenham Literature Festival tour combines one of the oldest literary events in the world with the National Trust’s Snowshill, a manor house filled with quirky and extraordinary treasures, plus Jacobean Chastleton House, which has remained virtually unchanged for nearly 400 years.
Enjoy a guided tour with a difference with a book-themed pub crawl through Dublin’s maze of cobbled streets and historic pubs on the Heritage of Ireland, Dublin Castles & Historic Houses tour.
You will notice that as well as our 2017 collection of tours, there are also a couple of 2018 departures, for those who like to plan ahead. The tours include the ever popular Aristocrats & Manor Houses & a Grand Tour to the North as well as a new fully immersive tour that explores the Historic Castles and Stately Homes of Wales.
I encourage you to join one or more of these tours and experience first-hand the history and beauty of the United Kingdom. Every tour helps raise funds for the National Trust and you will have a truly wonderful time sharing these journeys with our members and friends from across the United States.
